Safely Landed, Warm and Unpacked

Paul and I had a very easy trip to and through JFK. We landed on time but then the schedule unravelled a bit before recovering.

We stood on the tarmac for about 15 minutes waiting for a bus to take us to immigration. (I really didn't mind because it was so nice and warm!). As a result we were very last in line at immigration. We gathered our bags and got a ride to the small airport. When we went to check in we were told that Tortug wasn't flying that flight today, we could come back tomorrow even tho we had reservations and tickets in our hands. That started a series of phone calls to Amoce, Nader (a limo driver) and conversations with a Haitian couple from Mattapan about sharing a bus. After we arranged to pay way too much for a driver, Tortug decided they WERE going to fly after all!! Part of our concern is that there are no hotels and guesthouses to stay at in PAP since the earthquake so as it got to be midafternoon we were getting concerned that we have a viable option for getting to Cayes today. Thankfully we DID fly in a full plane and, miracle of miracles, all of our luggage arrived with us. That's a first. We're now unpacked and settling down to talk with Amoce on a nice, quiet tropical evening. Tomorrow we will do Cholera Prevention Education at Fond Palmiste. We learned it's market day at Chantal so that should be interesting. (Rara drumming in the background just now. )

7The Story: This huge replica watches now hangs in the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva. Commissioned for the 150th anniversary of the company in 1988, the watch has 33 complications and is about as big as a hockey puck. Although the average smart breitling replica can probably beat it for accuracy and features, to be able to cram astrological charts, calendars, and chimes into a mechanical device reminds us that mechanical rolex replica still haven't lost their mystery. The only drawback? All this clockwork still needs to be wound daily.
