We’ll be providing dry rice and beans to 40 families in Leogane. Amoce has rented a closed truck with a driver and will be driving the food to Leogane on Saturday if everything works out. Originally, we planned to feed 20 families, but the pastor we are working with said he has 250 people in his community, so we are spreading the food a little thinner and providing enough for 40 families for a week. $48 will feed one family. We’re going to have the pastor distribute the food; this is a good plan because he knows the people; he knows who is neediest, and this method will help prevent a food riot. They were the best I have ever had. And they really were a good example of some of what we have lost in western culture. At one point I was eating a muffin and I crunched on a large chunk of something. it turned out to be a whole chunk of un-ground cinnamon. Fantastic about the cinnamon muffins.
